"This is what you shall do, love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labour to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body."

This is What You Shall Do by Walt Whitman.

Inspiration of the day - Lara Stone by Viktor Vauthier.

The past few months I've been eating so healthy, but this weekend I decided to have a bit of a break and I did some baking. I made double chocolate brownies, fudge sauce and strawberry cupcakes before I went to go see Vision of Trees at Nation of Shopkeepers. My friend took some photos on her Olympus Trip 35, so I'm looking forward to seeing them. But for now I'll be going to collect my developed film from Manchester.

These were taken last year, so much has changed since then and I've recently realised how neglected my analogue cameras have become, I used to take a weekly trip into town to get a roll of film developed and now I'm become adjusted to the easier option of digital. So, earlier this week on a day trip to Manchester, for lack of 35mm film, I settled with a disposable camera and this afternoon I'm going to wander into town as I used to and pop into the familiar developing shop.

Recently studied, A Trip to the Moon by Georges Méliès, 1902.

I feel all I have been doing recently is procrastinating. Pondering how wonderful I'm going to make my house look with fresh paint and antique furnishings, how much time and effort I'm going to put into the films I'm directing, yet I find myself retreating beneath the duvet as soon as I arrive home, a green tea in hand, current read in the other, before drifting off. I'm making efforts to be healthier, hoping this will help me feel as motivated as I did not long ago. I want my hair to grow, I want my legs to shrink. I know these wishes are self indulgent, some only wish to recover from a serious illness, but I do not and my petty wishes seem relevant in my procrastinating mind.

I plan on wearing this dress with thick black tights, chunky black brogues and a long gold cross necklace. Today was lazy. Sleeping, reading and listening to The Strokes, Joni Mitchell and Lou Reed. I feel good about October.

TOPSHOP.COM had 20% discount for students last weekend, so I finally bought the winter coat I've been wanting and a few other essentials! May I add the Alexa Chung for MADEWELL A/W collection has some lovely pieces. I know I've been an absent blogger, but I have my reasons. I'm in the process of applying to university alongside my studies and free time is becoming scarce. I'd be so grateful if I could have any university recommendations, I have two choices left on my application and I'm struggling.

I was recently wrote an article and had my photography featured in New York based fashion magazine 'Dress Me' and I'm set to become a regular contributor. These are screenshots of the PDF magazine format available here and my spread is between pages 60 - 67!
